bookuman1 A lovely Lo-mein paradise. A dreamy and lushoius abode. I really feel like they nailed the emotions and sounds of eating out at a Chinese restaurant. This album makes me very happy and I dwell on these tracks quite a lot. Reccomended to anyone looking to escape into a beautiful tranquil lunch break. Favorite track: Leftover Fortune Cookies.

The gardens have beckoned you for a full week now. You decide to take on the wonders of the forest ahead. The green vines and forest foliage reach out, touching you, as if you don’t even exist. You aren’t sure if they are real either. After what seemed like fifteen minutes of hiking into an ever increasing forest, the inviting sounds of rushing water call out. Birds soon join in with the water’s chant. Upon coming into contact with the sound’s origins you see the most picturesque view of a basin and an oriental temple. The water is pristine. The sights are dreamy. The shadows of the temple are no threat. It feels like you were meant to be there. Where is this place? Not to worry, you mind clears it’s thoughts to maximize the pleasure of being in such a beautiful area. After some time at the basin, you soon see shadows in your peripheral vision. These shadows materialize into humans much like yourself. Families pour into the doors of the temple. The doors themselves seem to manifest as soon as within your line of sight. Odd, you think...

Walking into the temple shows that it is not merely a temple, but a full and grand restaurant. A Chinese restaurant? Why is it here? No matter, the sights take your breath away. Red lanterns hang above the place, in orderly fashion, swaying with a wind you can’t feel. It’s peculiar, everything just seems so perfect. The golden dragons at the entrance look down with eyes of ruby and emerald. You can’t help but feel at ease with your nonliving guardians. Behind them, as you step forward, are grand tables of fine stone and families eating and talking. It’s a sight to behold. This doesn’t feel like that Panda Express back at home. This all just feels so relaxing and extravagant. The restaurant is in full swing, with dreamy oriental music to accompany your tour. You take in a brief moment of silence as you walk by the tables of happy families with no care for your presence. You can’t help but feel small. The restaurant is so large, it’s a labyrinth of eating areas, kitchens, and individual rooms with purposes like meditation and meeting areas.

The sun sets on the restaurant and as soon as it lets go of the horizon, night falls and suddenly the last of the people in the main dining area disappear to dust. The candles blow out instantly and you are in the dark by yourself. Your eyes adjust to this mysterious darkness that engulfed the restaurant and you tour the area seemingly after hours (again, what time is it?). Soon, the speakers leak out a more low fidelity sound. It sounds like the music before, but only more lost and ambient. It really fits the mood, you think. It’s perfect. The hollowed out restaurant breathes an exciting ghastly life. You crawl over to the ledge and see the bio-luminescent glow of the forest floor and hear the slush of the basin. The music pours out as you fix your tired eyes above the basin, and you make out a specter in the slowly emerging fog. It calls out to you and slowly turns brighter. It engulfs you with light until you are suddenly laying on your bed with the morning light over your face.
